Sneak Peak Project #2

It's rusty and it's a candleholder. And it's perfect for my backyard. Candles in the backyard?! Not so romantic?! My husband took one look at it and asked "What are you going to do with that ugly thing? Better yet, where is it going to go?" I responded "In the backyard of course, give me a weekend, I'll show you what I can do with steel wool, primer, and paint". So gals, here's a sneak peak before the transformation.

Also, tomorrow I will be posting the results of sneak peak project #1.

Until,

June Flea Market Finds = Goodies Galore

This month has been a fruitful month of great finds at my local flea markets. I just love them.

At the beginning of the month, I had a very short visit to the De Anza Flea Market (only the first Saturday of every month). Unfortunately, my schedule was crammed with work, appointments, etc that day. I had to race through every aisle which was not exactly fun; however, I did manage to find some goodies. Also, I didn't get to use my improved shopping cart, but maybe next month. Some of the goodies I found at the Deanza flea: two bisque figurines, cake plate, porcelain water can, and a bowl.

And last weekend, I found some more goodies at the Capitol Flea Market. I haven't been to that flea market for awhile. I reeaally like that flea market. Most people who've been there think of it as a junky flea market. That's the point! Treasures for people like me. I found these wonderful goodies there: a cherub pendant lamp, a doll, a wire bowl, beaded light bulb covers, and a bed tray (which was instantly stolen from me by my mom). And I only spent $18 total. I was so delighted - that was a good weekend!

This weekend, I'll be making my rounds at the thrift stores. I wonder what I'm going to find. I hope I have goodies to share.

Also, I've got a sneak peak project #2 to post as well as the results of sneak peak project #1. I'm going to get them posted asap.

Until then, I've got more projects to work on and more goodies to hunt for.

Sneak Peak Project #1

I know I've been MIA for a month, but I've been living with my parents during that time. My husby went away for a month (during the weekdays only) for business . And while he was gone, my mother was adamant that I and my boys stay with her. I only live minutes away from her, but like a protective mother, I was forced to stay with her or feel her wrath. During my stay with my parents, I would come home for just an hour or two a day to prep for the next day. That's not enough time to do much; however, I must say I did enjoy staying with them so I won't complain too much.

Anyhoo, I wanted to share a small sneak peak project with you. I think I'm going to have a sneak peak category. But one little hitch, I won't tell you what I'm going to do with it until I'm done. So, I'm gonna start with this project. Hmm, maybe I should redo my categories. Oh boy, another project!

I bought these plastic wall decor about a year ago. I had them stashed away with my other collected goodies. I almost forgot about them until I had a creative vision. As you can see the paint is peeling off. A little primer and paint will remedy that, but what am I gonna use it for? Well, give me a week, but I wanted to give you a sneak peak. Here they are:

Until then,

My Unfinished Gazebo

So it's been awhile since my last entry. My mind's been focusing on this gazebo that has yet to be completed. My husband says it's not a gazebo but a covered patio. Gazebo or covered patio, it's still not done. As of today, it looks like this.

Josh and my father claims it will be done by next weekend. Ok, we will see. I was told it would be done by Mother's Day. Well, dahlings, all I see is lumber. I was totally imagining myself dancing inside of it with excitement; nevertheless, I truly appreciate them trying really hard to make this happen today. Although my husband grumbled at first at building this "structure", he's getting excited that it's nearing completion. He's already planning the weekends with his buddies in the gazebo/covered patio instead of his man cave aka the garage.

Before we got started on this structure, my father suggested we build a sunroom too. That'll be our next project in a couple of months. And let me tell you since he mentioned it, I can't stop thinking about it. I've working on a furniture floorplan. I'm really excited about this unlike my husband!! He commented "great, another girly room". I can't help it. Josh is very supportive even though he gags on all the froufrou.

Well, gotta go.

BTW, I've done very little shopping these past few weeks, but what I did find, I can't wait to show and tell.

Until then,

Happy Mother's Day!

Wishing everyone a special Mother's Day! Especially from your superheroes, princesses, cowboys, cowgirls, ballerinas, doctors, fairies, etc....

I'm getting a new gazebo!

Yeah!

Finally!

We have this gazebo in our backyard that's kinda being used as a storage tent. Well, there's no kinda, it is a storage container. Plus, my mother wanted me to purchase another gazebo so she could take mine. I almost did until I was browsing through an old copy of a 2006 Romantic Homes magazine. Lo and Behold, I saw the perfect gazebo. And I decided that I wanted one just like that...well, something somewhat similiar. Anyhoo, I batted my eyes and sweet-talked my husband and father into building me a gazebo. Actually, I guilted my husband. So starting next week, I'm getting my gazebo!! I'm so excited. I can't wait to fill it will all my lovely wrought iron patio furniture. I'm also going to install a chandelier inside of it. Oh, I'm excited writing about it.

I haven't done any shopping recently, and I don't think I will be until my gazebo is completed. This is good because it'll give me time to work on my zillion projects.

Until then.

Deanza Flea Market - April

I love the Deanza Flea Market! I usually find some great stuff there. I always look forward to the first Saturday of every month. Some months are good and some bad. My mom and I try never to miss this day. She goes for her plants and I go for my vintage finds. My sweet mom is like a hawk too. She can spot something that we both like and want from a distance. She'll make me run after it too. "Lisa, go,go,go, I see this!" She's great.

Anyhoo, this is what I found this month.

I collect dolls. So when I found this Tiny Tears with caracul hair, I was elated. As for the pink, vintage table cloths, I thought they were curtains, but I was wrong. I can't wait to use them on my wrought iron patio table this summer.

The picture frame, linen towel, & plates were hidden treasures in a box full of "junk"!

This Croscill duvet cover looks better in natural sunlight. I was tickled to get a great deal on it. I just need to find the matching shams.

So when searching, don't forget to look into those grubby boxes you might think yucky. They can be chest full of treasures.

Until then,

Toodles.
