A Little Rocking Chair for My Boys

I bought this little rocking chair for my boys a couple of years ago at a flea market.

As you can see, it wasn't that pretty. My goal was to sand it down and paint it up, but I never got around to it until now. Tristan is now six and Lance will be turning three soon, and they both won't sit in that "ugly" chair. I want them to enjoy it while they can before it's too small for them. So over the weekend I bought blue spray paint and painted the chair. I also purchased online a sheet of vintage style decals to apply on it.

Well, here it is.

Now they say it looks cool, and they like the little decals on it. I'm undecided if I want to sand it down a bit to give it a worn look. But in the meantime, I'm going to let them enjoy it.

Sneak Peek Project #3

I know I have been absent for a bit. Comcast and I have not been friends for the last couple of weeks. My phone/internet/cable line has been down more than up. It's a bit irritating. They recabled my house and gave us a new adapter, but it's still in and out. So now they think that the cable line may be faulty due to a neighbor's tree branch caught on it. I don't watch much TV, so I'm ok with the cable being down, but the telephone and internet. Now, that's a different story. But it has given me a little bit of time to work outside. Right now, the internet is up, but in about 10-15 minutes it will be down. So until they fix it, I won't be on very much. This is a bummer.

By the way, I've also noticed that I've been spelling Sneak Peek as Sneak Peak. Silly me. I always try to proofread my work, but how did this one pass me by? Anyhoo, now I've got to edit my other blogs.

Well, remember this little blue hamper?

This weekend, it will be getting a small makeover. Hint: paint.

I can't wait til it's done. I should be posting another sneak peek project next week. Right now, I'm in the process of ordering parts for it.

I know I haven't posted the results of project #1, but I realized it's part of a bigger picture. So, unfortunately, that one is going to have to wait.

Until then.

Sneak Peek Project # 2 Completed

Tada! From candleholder to plant holder. What do you think? Even my husband was surprised. I think it turned out fab. I was going to paint it white, but decided I needed a hint of color. So I picked ivory. The flowers made it look even better. Now I have a mini garden inside my gazebo. I velcroed the pots the the holder, so they are removable. I was going to permanently secure them, but thought better of it. Luckily I did. So if you have a candleholder you're thinking of disposing, try making it into a mini garden. Now, I'm on to my next project. Hmmm.

From this!

To this!!!
